Jung-gu to Hold New Year's Greeting Event on the 4th of Next Month

Inviting 700 Residents to Shinsegae Namsan Trinity Hall

Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) announced on the 30th that it will hold the "2025 New Year's Greeting Meeting" by inviting about 700 residents and others at 3 p.m. on the 4th of next month at Trinity Hall, Shinsegae Namsan (180 Jangchungdan-ro, Jung-gu).


This New Year's Greeting Meeting is an event prepared to share the achievements made during the fourth year of the 8th elected term and to express gratitude to the residents who have participated together.

District Mayor Kim Gil-seong will share the achievements accomplished together by residents and staff through his New Year's address and present the vision for the new year. In addition, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will attend to directly convey the direction of city administration and have time to communicate with local residents.


Over the past year, Jung-gu has implemented various policies that allow residents to feel a sense of efficacy in diverse areas, including ▲ follow-up measures to improve the living environment in low-rise residential areas following the decision to ease the Namsan height restriction zone ▲ full opening of the Namsan foothill forest trail ▲ rapid housing maintenance projects based on Jung-gu’s unique proactive public support ▲ opening of the Daehyeonsan Reservoir Park monorail ▲ opening of the Jung-gu Senior Club ▲ opening of Norimongttang Kids Cafe and Toy Library in Jungnim-dong ▲ establishment of AI Naepyeon Jung-gu system ▲ provision of welcome kits for single-person households moving into Jung-gu.


In recognition of these efforts, Jung-gu received the Excellence Award in the Socioeconomic Vitality Promotion category at the "2024 Governance Local Politics Awards," the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the "2024 Korea Knowledge Awards," and the Grand Prize in the Citizen Participation category at the "2nd Korea Public Brand Awards."


At the event, the joy of welcoming the new year will be shared through a pre-performance by the string quartet Joyful and a congratulatory performance by male tenor La Luce. There will also be a time to wish for the development of the region and the happiness of residents through a New Year's blessing relay by key guests and residents and staff who have brightened Jung-gu.


District Mayor Kim Gil-seong said, “In the new year, ‘Always Reliable Naepyeon Jung-gu’ will continue to be with Jung-gu residents so that they can enjoy happiness in their ordinary daily lives,” and added, “We ask for your great interest in the New Year's Greeting Meeting, which marks a new beginning for Jung-gu.”
