Villa Explosion Accident in Jinju... 30s Male Suffers Second-Degree Burns on Entire Body

An explosion occurred on the 2nd floor of a five-story villa in Sangpyeong-dong, Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, at around 11:35 a.m. on the day of Seollal, the 29th.

According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, five residents from other units evacuated due to the explosion, and a man in his 30s living in the villa's 2nd-floor unit sustained second-degree burns over his entire body and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The explosion damaged the glass windows and exterior walls of the villa's 2nd and 3rd floors, interior furniture, and window frames of surrounding buildings.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the explosion and the extent of the damage based on reports of a blast sound and broken windows from passersby nearby.
