On the same day, Lee stated on Instagram, "There is a fervent wish and a clearer hope."
He said, "Last year, all of us went through too many hardships," adding, "Difficult living conditions, the wounds of pain caused by disasters, and even the lingering shadow of an unfinished civil strife."
He continued, "Then it suddenly came to mind. A new morning does not come from the sun rising beyond the mountains or from the passing days on the calendar, but from the eyes of those dreaming of a better tomorrow."
He added, "The difficult past will become the driving force to move toward the future and bloom into the radiant light of hope, like colorful traditional Lunar New Year clothes. It is the first day of the new year. 'Again, Republic of Korea'?now it begins."
