Voice actor and actor Jang Mi-ja has passed away at the age of 84.
On the 27th, Yonhap News reported, citing a broadcasting industry official, that "Jang Mi-ja passed away this morning due to an illness." She debuted in 1962 with the play 'Kkeopjil-i Kkaejineun Apeum Eopsi' and joined DBS as part of the first generation of voice actors (later integrated as the 6th public recruitment group of KBS) the following year. She appeared in dramas such as 'Dalmoori,' 'Toji,' 'Je 2 Gonghwaguk,' 'TV Sonjabyeongbeop,' 'Yojeong Commi,' 'Bubu Clinic - Saranggwa Jeonjaeng,' 'Solyakgukjip Adeuldeul,' 'Nuni Bujige,' and 'Kingtheland.'
She also appeared in works alongside her DBS classmate and husband Park Woong. Last year, the couple shared the stage in the play 'Chumchuneun Eunbit Chosanghwa.' The funeral is being held at Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Hall No. 4, with the funeral procession scheduled for 6 a.m. on the 29th, and the burial site is Seoul Municipal Crematorium.
