Welcome Events for Homecoming Visitors
Nam-seo Park, Mayor of Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, visited the City Hall Situation Room, Yeongju Police Station, Yeongju Fire Station, and CCTV Control Center on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, January 25, together with Congressman Jong-deuk Lim and the City Council (Chairman Byung-gi Kim), to encourage emergency workers and inspect safety measures so that citizens can have a safe and comfortable Lunar New Year holiday.
In addition, to ensure that visitors returning to their hometowns for the traditional Korean holiday Seol can have a rich and enjoyable time, welcome events were held at Yeongju Station and Yeongju Bus Terminal.

Through the welcome events, visitors were able to feel the warm affection of their hometown, while promoting Yeongju as a tourist city with its festivals and major tourist attractions, concluding the first day of the holiday with a communication schedule at the field of public livelihood.
Mayor Park Nam-seo said, “I hope that all visitors returning to their hometowns and citizens will have a prosperous holiday and share warm affection,” adding, “During the holiday period, we will minimize administrative gaps by establishing thorough safety measures and resolving citizens’ inconveniences.”
Yeongju City will operate a comprehensive situation room with 103 personnel assigned across eight areas including environmental management, transportation, wildfire response, disaster and accident management, emergency medical services, foot-and-mouth disease, AI, ASF quarantine, and water supply management until the 30th.
