‘Eoreushin Wootneunda’… Uljin-gun, Senior Job Opportunities Grow by 47.6%

Significant Expansion of Senior Job Recruitment in Uljin-gun
Aiming for "One Senior Job Per Household" to Enhance Elderly Welfare

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, significantly expanded the scale of senior job recruitment in 2025 compared to the previous year, providing jobs to a total of 2,686 elderly individuals.


This represents a substantial increase of about 47.6% in Uljin-gun’s recruitment numbers (1,819 in 2024 ▲ 2,686 in 2025) compared to the overall recruitment in Gyeongbuk Province (62,272 in 2024 ▲ 67,489 in 2025, approximately 8.3% increase). This is the result of Uljin-gun’s continuous efforts to create jobs so that each elderly person in a single-person household can enjoy a healthy later life.


In particular, Uljin-gun allocated an additional 200 public interest-type senior jobs from its own budget to further expand job opportunities for local seniors.


This year, the total number of senior job allocations is 2,686 (2,246 public interest-type, 340 social service-type, and 100 market-type), highlighting Uljin-gun’s commitment to actively prepare for the super-aged society by developing senior jobs in various fields.


This expansion in recruitment is regarded as an important step in actively responding to the changes of an aging society and enhancing the welfare of local residents.


County Governor Son Byung-bok stated, “We plan to actively support healthy social activities for seniors through various senior job programs and customized welfare services,” adding, “Furthermore, aiming for ‘one senior job per household for those aged 85 and under,’ we will continue to provide more job opportunities to seniors and support opportunities for self-realization in old age.”
