A man in his 70s was arrested in Jeju for wielding a weapon against a neighbor mother and daughter with whom he had ongoing conflicts.

On the 25th, the Seogwipo Police Station in Jeju announced that they had arrested Mr. A, in his 70s, on charges of aggravated assault.
Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon at Ms. B (in her 60s) and her daughter (in her 30s), who live on the lower floor of the same apartment complex in Gangjeong-dong, Seogwipo City, at around 2:21 p.m. the previous day.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A broke in while the mother and daughter, with whom he had a poor relationship, were packing their belongings with acquaintances to move out, and committed the crime using a nearby weapon.
Mr. A was caught in the act by police who responded to a report from the victims' acquaintance. The mother and daughter sustained injuries to their faces and were transported to the hospital, but their lives are not in danger.
The Jeju District Court held a pre-arrest hearing for Mr. A on the same day and issued an arrest warrant, citing concerns over flight risk and evidence tampering.
