On the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, the 25th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon inspected community care sites and visited traditional markets to attend to the local economy.

On the morning of the same day, Mayor Oh visited Saenal Community Childcare Center in Gwangjin-gu and held a meeting with the students, parents, and staff. Saenal Community Childcare Center provides welfare and educational services for local residents and children, including after-school childcare and multicultural children’s education. During the meeting, students, parents, and staff expressed their gratitude to the Seoul city government for its efforts to revitalize the center, calling it like another family.

In response, Mayor Oh said, "We will strive to ensure that the facility can be used in a safer environment." After the meeting, he enjoyed playing Yutnori with the children using the facility and shared rice cake soup with the residents. He also visited the nearby Junggok Jeil Alley Market to greet merchants for the Lunar New Year and check on holiday living costs.

Mayor Oh encouraged citizens to use traditional markets, saying, "As consumer sentiment is shrinking and small business owners’ worries are piling up, I ask for your participation in consumption." The city is holding a special event with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, offering up to 30% of the purchase amount back in Onnuri gift certificates when shopping at traditional markets.

Mayor Oh also posted on Facebook, saying, "How about going on outings with your family a lot during the long holiday and dining out frequently to ease the burden on housewives?" He emphasized, "Participating in consumption is reviving the economy and is patriotic."

Mayor Oh also visited the Junggok 119 Safety Center to encourage the on-duty personnel, asking them to "make a little more effort for the citizens during the holiday since fires or accidents can occur unexpectedly."
