On the morning of the 25th, Park Hongryul, Mayor of Mokpo, visited the staff working at the Comprehensive Countermeasures Situation Room to encourage them as they ensured the safety and convenience of visitors coming to Mokpo during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Mayor Park stated that, with a longer-than-usual Lunar New Year holiday, a large number of visitors are expected in Mokpo. He emphasized the need for thorough preparations to resolve traffic and parking issues, establish a robust medical system, and prepare for heavy snowfall as significant snow is forecasted during the holiday.

The city will operate the Comprehensive Situation Room for six days, from the 25th to the 30th, during the holiday period to ensure that returning residents and tourists can enjoy a safe and pleasant holiday.

The Comprehensive Situation Room will deploy 320 staff members to respond quickly to emergency civil complaints and incidents, providing uninterrupted administrative services. It is organized into a total of eight task forces, including the General Operations Team, Traffic Countermeasures Team, Tourism Countermeasures Team, Disaster and Accident Countermeasures Team, Welfare Countermeasures Team, Public Health and Sanitation Team, Daily Civil Complaints Team, and General Civil Complaints Team.

During the holiday, citizens can report various daily complaints or disasters to the Mokpo City Comprehensive Situation Room. For medical information, they can call 119 without an area code, contact the Health and Welfare Call Center, visit the Mokpo City website, or use the Emergency Medical Portal to find on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies.

Mayor Park stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that citizens and visitors can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday through the operation of the Comprehensive Countermeasures Situation Room during the Lunar New Year holiday."

Meanwhile, accompanying the mayor on his visit to encourage the staff were Kim Won, National Assembly member; Seo Mihwa, National Assembly member; and Cho Seongo, Chairperson of Mokpo City Council.
