According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 25th, the Coastal Safety Accident Risk Forecast System is a system established under the "Coastal Accident Safety Management Regulations" to inform the public of potential risks and prevent accidents at dangerous locations such as piers and other coastal areas during specific periods of adverse weather or natural disasters. The system is divided into three levels: Attention, Caution, and Warning.
The "Caution" level of the Coastal Accident Risk Forecast System is issued when there is a high risk of safety accidents or concerns about the spread of damage. During the period of the caution alert, the Coast Guard plans to strengthen sea and land patrols, focusing on dangerous low-lying coastal areas such as coastal waters, ports, and rocky shores, and to make every effort to prevent coastal safety accidents through publicity and safety guidance activities.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure safe sea routes for citizens returning to their hometowns during the Lunar New Year holiday through thorough safety management," and urged, "Fishermen should check the mooring status of their vessels in advance, and the public is asked to refrain from visiting dangerous places such as coastlines or breakwaters."
