All Water Treatment Agents Manufactured and Sold
Found to Be 'Compliant' in Inspection
The Ulsan City Health and Environment Research Institute conducted an inspection of the components and standards of water treatment agents manufactured and sold within the jurisdiction last year, and all were judged to be 'compliant.'
Currently, there are 16 water treatment agent manufacturers operating in the Ulsan area. These companies conduct self-quality inspections of their products according to the 'Drinking Water Management Act' and carry out sample inspections based on guidance and supervision by Ulsan City.
The inspections were conducted on 7 to 14 items depending on the sample.
As a result of inspecting a total of 154 water treatment agents last year, all were judged to be 'compliant,' indicating they can be used with confidence.
An official from the Health and Environment Research Institute stated, "To ensure the safe provision of drinking water to Ulsan citizens, we plan to continue thorough product inspections so that manufacturers can produce water treatment agents that meet the standards."
'Water treatment agents' refer to agents added to natural water to purify or disinfect it or to prevent oxidation in drinking water supply facilities.
