"If We Do Not Remove the Malignant Tumor, There Is No Hope for the Future"
"Willing to Debate in Any Format... Please Contact Me"
Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, declared on the 24th, "From this moment, I declare war against the conspiracy theory of election fraud," and proposed a 'final debate' to former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn and lecturer Jeon Han-gil.
At a press conference held at the National Assembly that day, Lee said, "If we do not remove the conspiracy theory of election fraud, which is like a malignant tumor, now, there is no hope for the future of the Republic of Korea," and proposed, "Whether it is lecturer Jeon Han-gil or former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, let’s debate." Former Prime Minister Hwang is a leading proponent of the election fraud theory within the ruling party, and Jeon Han-gil, a Korean history lecturer, sympathizes with related suspicions.
Lee said, "According to today's Chosun Ilbo opinion poll results, 43% of respondents expressed agreement with the suspicion of election fraud. This is a serious problem," and explained, "Suddenly, the president fell into it, and an absurd incident occurred where martial law was declared and the military was deployed to the National Election Commission."
He continued, "On the 21st, the president’s lawyer even displayed a PPT as evidence of election fraud and preached conspiracy theories for a long time at the Constitutional Court, which is a shameful event in the world," and raised his voice, saying, "A ghost is wandering around the Republic of Korea."
Lee said, "If conspiracy theorists of election fraud continue to falsely claim conservatism, the conservative camp of the Republic of Korea must forever give up on the idea of ruling," and declared, "From this moment, I declare war against the conspiracy theory of election fraud."
He emphasized, "This war is a fight for democracy, a fight to restore rational reason, and a fight to regain sound common sense," and added, "If we fight together, we can erase the grand delusion called the conspiracy theory of election fraud from the public discourse."
Lee claimed, "The conspiracy theory of election fraud originally benefited figures on the Democratic Party side," and "It has crossed over to the conservative camp and escalated, continuing a self-destructive act that completely undermines the conservative camp from the ground up."
He addressed former Prime Minister Hwang and lecturer Jeon Han-gil, saying, "I am willing to debate anytime, anywhere, and in any way, so please contact me," and added, "In a democratic society, there can be diverse opinions, and some may believe in conspiracy theories, but if such people become the mainstream of society, presidential candidates, and hold major government positions, it is a serious sign of national regression. Let’s all speak up and fight."
