Integrated Foundation Scheduled for Establishment in 2026
"Aiming to Become a Corporate-Type Foundation"
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) held the launch ceremony of the 'Integrated Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation Establishment Promotion Committee' with the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundations of Dong-A University and Dongseo University.
The Dong-A University-Dongseo University consortium is promoting "Securing Sustainable Finances Based on a Profit-Oriented Integrated Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation" as a core task of the "Glocal University 30" project. To successfully carry out this task, the two universities held a launch ceremony on the 17th of last month at the Busan Lotte Hotel and established the Integrated Foundation Establishment Promotion Committee.
The integrated foundation, scheduled to be established in 2026, will promote the expansion of practical technology commercialization achievements centered on the consortium universities based on a business model for commercialization support.
The committee consists of internal members, including officials from the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundations of Dong-A University and Dongseo University, as well as external members from local governments, specialized institutions, and regionally specialized companies, accelerating the establishment of the integrated foundation.
The head of the promotion team for the integrated foundation is Choi Jeong-ho, head of Dong-A University’s Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation. Internal members appointed include Hwang Ki-hyun, head of Dongseo University’s Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation; Lee Shin-young, deputy head of Dong-A University’s Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation; and Kwon Kyung-soo, deputy head of Dongseo University’s Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation.
External members appointed are △ Kim Bong-su, President of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology Commercialization △ Song Jeong-sook, Head of Industry-Academia Cooperation Division, Busan City △ Yoo Jin-hyuk, Head of Busan Research and Development Special Zone Headquarters, Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation △ Kim Tae-yeol, President of Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency △ Park Hoon-ki, CEO of Busan Regional University Consortium Technology Holdings △ Kim Dong-geon, CEO of Donghwa Entech △ Ko Sang-seok, CEO of Prestige BioPharma IDC △ Choi Dae-gil, CEO of YouCanStar Co., Ltd. △ Lee Dong-gyu, CEO of Meracle △ Choi Young-cheol, former Special Professor at Dong-A University Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation △ Moon Il-shin, Director of Hanul Accounting Corporation △ Jeon Yong-cheol, Representative Patent Attorney of MyStar24 Patent Law Office.
The promotion committee will hold regular meetings quarterly and serve as an advisory body for forming a profit-oriented organization and establishing a governance system for the integrated foundation’s establishment.
Head Choi Jeong-ho stated, “The existing Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundations will transform into an integrated foundation utilizing the strengths of each university through the Glocal project currently underway as a consortium of Dong-A University and Dongseo University. The integrated foundation will evolve from being limited to administrative support tasks to a corporate-type foundation that proactively meets corporate needs and connects with faculty members.”
