Acting Minister of National Defense Kim Seon-ho met with Joseph Yun, Acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, to reaffirm the strong ROK-U.S. alliance.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 24th, Acting Minister Kim met with Acting U.S. Ambassador Joseph Yun on the same day.
At the meeting, Acting Minister Kim congratulated Acting Ambassador Yun on his appointment, stating, "Acting Ambassador Yun, who possesses both experience and insight on the ROK-U.S. alliance and the North Korean nuclear issue, is the best person to continuously advance the cooperative achievements that the ROK and the U.S. have made so far."
Acting Minister Kim especially expressed gratitude for Acting Ambassador Yun’s early visit after his appointment and emphasized that close cooperation between the ROK and U.S. diplomatic and security authorities is the foundation for deterring North Korea and maintaining peace in the region.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed that the ROK-U.S. alliance remains unwaveringly strong, and Acting Ambassador Yun expressed the United States’ steadfast support for the alliance.
Acting Minister Kim stated, “Going forward, the ROK-U.S. alliance will maintain an overwhelming combined defense posture, and we will continue to cooperate for sustained development in various fields such as defense industry and defense science and technology.”
