Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 24th that Geumpa Technical High School was recently selected as an outstanding school in the education sector in the technical manpower development project (military specialized high school) organized by the Ministry of National Defense.
The 'Technical Manpower Development Project (Military Specialized High School)', which began in 2008 with 10 schools and had 44 schools nationwide participating as of last year, was promoted to foster military-related technical personnel in advanced weapon systems and professional technical personnel in the industrial sector.
Geumpa Technical High School's military specialization department, which was launched in 2008 as the only military specialized high school in Gwangju, has made various efforts to nurture military technical personnel in the field of K-defense's key equipment such as tracked equipment and information and communications.
Through an educational curriculum that combines on-site training at military units and theoretical learning, students have developed the skills necessary for maintenance of cutting-edge equipment and systematically learned military-related technologies. Geumpa Technical High School was recognized for its achievements and was selected as an outstanding school.
Lee Kwangjung, principal of Geumpa Technical High School, said, "We will continue to innovate our curriculum and strengthen the practical training environment so that students can grow into top talents in the field of military-related technology."
