City Issues 85 Billion KRW Worth to Boost Local Economy

Suncheon City, Jeonnam (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 24th that it will extend the 15% special discount on Suncheon Love Gift Certificates, originally planned for January to boost the local economy and revitalize local businesses, until February 28.

This discount, which applies equally to both paper and mobile gift certificates, is the highest ever offered. Each person can purchase up to 500,000 KRW per month (up to 300,000 KRW for paper certificates).

Suncheon City will extend the 15% special discount on Suncheon Love Gift Certificates, which was planned to be held for the month of January, until February 28 to revive the local economy and activate the regional commercial district. Provided by Suncheon City

Currently, there are a total of 13,500 affiliated stores that accept Suncheon Love Gift Certificates, including restaurants, marts, and traditional markets within the city. The list of affiliated stores can be checked on the Local Gift Certificate Chak app and the city’s official website.

Thanks to the 15% special discount, a total of 32 billion KRW in sales was recorded by the 23rd, contributing to the revitalization of local businesses.

The city plans to issue a total of 85 billion KRW worth of gift certificates by February this year, expecting that early-year spending in local businesses will help the local economy recover.

Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu said, “We expect that the special discount on Suncheon Love Gift Certificates will help revitalize neighborhood businesses and support household finances,” adding, “We will continue to implement measures to stabilize people’s livelihoods by increasing local consumption and reducing household burdens.”

Meanwhile, the mobile gift certificates can be easily recharged through the ‘Local Gift Certificate Chak’ app, and the Suncheon Love Gift Certificate check card can be issued at all Nonghyup, Shinhyup, post offices, Saemaeul Geumgo, and Gwangju Bank branches within the city.
