The mobile medical service covers 17 senior centers on remote islands without medical facilities and 37 senior centers in medically vulnerable areas. The mobile team consists of six staff members, including a public health doctor, an oriental medicine doctor, a dentist, a nurse, a physical therapist, and an administrative staff member, to provide these services.
Main services include basic health checks such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol to assess residents' health status, acupuncture treatments, oral examinations, fluoride application, medication guidance, and health consultations. In addition, the team provides information on national health checkups and education on the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, helping residents maintain their health and prevent illnesses.
An official from the county said, "We hope that the mobile medical service for senior centers will help identify and solve fundamental health issues in medically underserved areas, and contribute to ensuring that many residents enjoy a happy and healthy old age."
The mobile medical service was also conducted last year, providing services to a total of 638 people at 34 senior centers.
