Increasing Admission Consultations
and Expanding the Dongjak S-Class
Dongjak District Office (Mayor Park Il-ha) in Seoul is upgrading its admission support services this year through the ‘Dongjak Admission Support Center’.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak District, is delivering a greeting at the "Regular Admission Preparation Lecture by Invited Experts" held last December, organized by the Admission Support Center. Provided by Dongjak District.
Dongjak District will significantly increase the number of ‘1:1 customized admission consultations’ from 720 sessions per year to 900 sessions. An additional 180 sessions will be held during the summer vacation (July to August) to strengthen guidance for students’ career paths and college admissions.
Additionally, new season-specific intensive consultations will be introduced. From June to August, ‘Intensive Consultations for Early Admission Preparation’ will be offered to local high school seniors, repeat test takers, and their parents. From October to November, ‘Special Admission Consultations for High School Selection Guide’ will be provided for middle school students and their parents.
The ‘Dongjak S-Class,’ where current Seoul National University students personally share study methods and school life tips, will also visit students more frequently. The number of sessions will increase from 6 to 10, and from next month through December, quality mentoring services covering study methods by school stage, management of school records, and preparation strategies for early and regular admissions will be offered using public facilities in each district.
In response to the introduction of the high school credit system and changes in college admission processes, a ‘High School Selection Guide Special Lecture’ will be held to help students about to enter high school design their curriculum according to their career paths and aptitudes. The first session will focus on specialized high schools, and the second on general and specialized high schools, scheduled for April and September respectively.
Moreover, distinctive admission support programs such as study method special lectures for summer vacation, essay and interview special lectures, and mock interviews for early admission preparation will be provided to actively address the concerns of students and parents regarding college admissions.
Since its opening in May 2023, the Dongjak Admission Support Center has provided various admission support services to 11,100 students.
Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “In 2025, we will continue to help local students successfully prepare for college admissions through the Dongjak Admission Support Center,” adding, “Dongjak District will continue to implement diverse youth support policies as an education-centered city.”
