Seongdong-gu Ensures No Medical Gaps with Emergency Medical Services During Lunar New Year Holiday

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is implementing an "Emergency Medical Treatment Plan" to minimize residents' inconvenience caused by medical service gaps during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The district, in cooperation with local medical institutions and pharmacies, will designate and operate hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open on specific dates during the holiday period to ensure residents do not experience inconvenience due to medical service gaps or difficulties in purchasing medicines. Over-the-counter drugs (13 items), such as digestive aids and antipyretic analgesics, can also be purchased at convenience stores and other authorized sellers of over-the-counter medicines.

Comprehensive hospitals, including Hanyang University Hospital, a regional emergency medical center, will provide 24-hour medical services to promptly respond to emergency patients and mass casualty incidents.

The Seongdong-gu Public Health Center will operate an emergency medical treatment situation room during the holiday period to consult and guide residents on any inconveniences, filling the gaps in medical services. An emergency medical team will also be organized and operated on the 28th and 29th.

A resident doctor will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to provide primary medical care, including internal medicine consultations (excluding emergency treatment).

Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the Lunar New Year holiday can be found on the Seongdong-gu Office and Seongdong-gu Public Health Center websites or the Emergency Medical Portal. Guidance is also available via 120 (Dasan Call Center), 119 (Emergency Situation Management Center), and the mobile app "Emergency Medical Information Service."

Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "We will carry out the 'Emergency Medical Treatment Plan' without fail so that residents can spend the Lunar New Year holiday with peace of mind, without any medical service gaps," and added, "We will continue to make meticulous efforts to ensure that all residents can live healthy and safe daily lives."
