Gyeonggi Province will operate the "Youth Hotline 1388" 24 hours a day from the 25th to the 30th of this month during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Youth Hotline 1388 is a service that provides professional counseling 24/7, 365 days a year, covering everything from everyday concerns of youth to crisis situations such as school dropout, internet and smartphone addiction, and running away from home.
In particular, if help is requested in cases of running away or emergencies, prompt intervention and rescue are possible, and if necessary, protection is provided in connection with youth shelters. Guardians who have concerns about their relationship with their adolescent children can also receive counseling.

Gang Yu-im, Director of the Gyeonggi Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, said, "With the 27th of this month designated as a temporary holiday, it means an extended time of worries and pain for youths outside of home or school or those with individual concerns," adding, "We are fully prepared so that youths in need can use the ‘Youth Hotline 1388’ anytime."
The Gyeonggi Youth Counseling and Welfare Center supports about 250 phone counseling cases every year during the holiday period.
