Ulsan Technical High School Rebuilt as an Eco-friendly and Digital-based Future School

Ulsan Office of Education Signs Agreement for Lease-type Private Investment Project
Spatial Innovation Linked to Curriculum, Completion Scheduled for July 2028

Ulsan Industrial High School in Nam-gu, Ulsan City will be developed into a future-oriented school based on eco-friendliness and digital technology.

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) signed an implementation agreement on the 23rd in the reception room with the tentative private investment project (BTL) operator, Ulsan Mirae Baeumteo, for the Green Smart School project at Ulsan Industrial High School.

With a total project cost of 62.2 billion KRW, the school will be rebuilt as a future-type school with a total floor area of 22,929.98 ㎥ and five above-ground floors.

The project will proceed as a private investment project, where the project operator will construct the building, transfer ownership to the Office of Education upon completion, and manage and operate the facility for 20 years.

The Ulsan Office of Education expects this agreement to create a future school centered on eco-friendly and digital education demand.

In particular, the design and construction will focus on realizing spatial innovation linked to a student-centered curriculum.

Since April last year, the Ulsan Office of Education has conducted priority negotiations with the tentative Ulsan Mirae Baeumteo and reached agreements on detailed matters such as school layout, floor plans, and project schedules through three main negotiations and eight working-level meetings.

After the agreement, construction is scheduled to begin in July following the design phase. The construction period is approximately 36 months, aiming for completion in July 2028.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, “We will carry out the construction safely and efficiently so that students can receive future-oriented teaching and learning in spaces where they want to go and stay. We will do our best to create an educational environment that prepares for future society.”
