Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun Encourages Women Farmers in Efforts to Enhance Rural Women's Rights

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju recently attended the ‘2025 Korea Life Improvement Yangju City Federation New Year General Meeting’ held at the ‘Yangju Agricultural Technology Center Conference Room’ to encourage the hard work of members who have been diligently working to enhance the rights of rural women in the area and promote the development of local agriculture.

The event was attended by about 70 people, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun, City Council Chairman Yoon Chang-chul, heads of local agricultural organizations, former presidents of the Korea Life Improvement Yangju City Federation, and affiliated members.


The event proceeded in the order of △the 16th President Jang Gye-sook’s farewell ceremony △the 17th President Park Ha-ja’s inauguration ceremony △sharing of 2024 business achievements △announcement of major business plans for 2025.


Newly appointed President Park Ha-ja expressed her aspirations in her inaugural speech, stating, “I will do my best to promote harmony and communication among members, strengthen the competitiveness of local agriculture, and expand growth opportunities for women farmers.”


In the middle of the New Year general meeting, there was a meaningful time to review last year’s business achievements, announce this year’s major business plans, improve the bylaws, and share goals with the members.


Mayor Kang Su-hyun said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude and respect to the 16th president and the executive members who have excellently led the federation with passion and dedication over the past four years,” adding, “I sincerely congratulate the newly launched 17th president and executive members today, and I hope that the Life Improvement Federation will continue to unite and develop further, becoming a center that brings warm hope and change to the rural areas and citizens of our Yangju City.”
