On the 23rd, Seosan City in Chungnam announced that two bypass road construction projects were selected as target projects for the 6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan and have been included in the comprehensive preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The two selected projects are: △ Bypass road for National Road No. 29 in Daesan (Yeongtap-ri to Daesan-ri) △ National Road No. 32 alternative bypass road (Ilram-ri in Seongyeon-myeon to Cha-ri in Inji-myeon).

According to the city, National Road No. 29 passes through the center of Daesan-eup and is a section with chronic traffic congestion due to heavy commuter and logistics traffic from the industrial complexes in the area.

The city had previously applied for the inclusion of these projects in the 5th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan (2021-2025) to induce traffic dispersion through the construction of bypass roads, but they were not included due to insufficient feasibility.

At that time, only the four-lane expansion project for National Road No. 29 (Daesan Dokgot to Daesan Daero) passed the preliminary feasibility study and is currently underway.

The city plans to focus its administrative efforts on passing the comprehensive preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, while continuing close cooperation with related agencies including Chungnam Province.

Mayor Lee Wanseop said, "We will do our utmost to ensure that the bypass road construction projects are finally included in the 6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan, so that National Road No. 29, which has long caused inconvenience to citizens due to chronic traffic congestion, can be reborn as a gateway to enhance citizen convenience and secure corporate competitiveness."
