Emergency Medical Support System Established
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will operate an emergency medical system from January 25 to February 2 to fill the medical service gap during the Lunar New Year holiday and minimize inconvenience to residents.
Konkuk University Hospital and Hyemin Hospital have been designated as emergency medical institutions, maintaining a 24-hour emergency medical system. A total of 587 hospitals and clinics and 196 pharmacies in the area will operate on a daily rotation basis to minimize medical service gaps.
The main medical institutions available for treatment during the Lunar New Year holiday are 24-Hour Open Clinic (90 Neungdong-ro), 365 Ryu Mago Internal Medicine Clinic (63 Gwangnaru-ro 56-gil), and Jayang 365 Open Clinic (29 Ttukseom-ro 23-gil).
An emergency medical situation room will be established to perform roles such as ▲guidance on emergency medical institutions and holiday pharmacies ▲information on fever clinics for winter COVID-19 preparedness ▲operation and response of disaster safety communication networks ▲emergency contact in case of urgent situations.
Additionally, a health center medical team will be set up to fill the medical service gap. A team of three professionals, including doctors and nurses, will operate the health center clinic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on January 29 and 30. The clinic will focus on chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia.
The status of emergency medical institutions can be checked on the Emergency Medical Portal, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the Gwangjin-gu Health Center Civil Service Office.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We have established an emergency medical system so that residents can have a safe and comfortable holiday. We will carefully manage to minimize inconvenience and prevent any medical service gaps during the holiday period.” He added, “We hope everyone has a warm and prosperous Lunar New Year with family and relatives.”
