It has been revealed that the subway advertisement featuring actors Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon was discontinued due to repeated complaints from fans.
On the 23rd, the fan voting service company Giftree released a statement regarding the suspension of the subway advertisement featuring Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon. They said, "We would like to inform you about the circumstances leading to the advertisement's suspension," and added, "After the advertisement was posted, over 40 complaints were received by Seoul Metro asking 'Why are the two appearing together?'"
They continued, "According to Seoul Metro's internal policy, if even one complaint is received, the advertisement must be stopped," and explained, "We tried to resume the advertisement after some time, but continuous complaints made it impossible. Ultimately, we sought understanding from the person who selected the design and revised it, submitting it for review at all subway stations except Konkuk University Station, but it was rejected for the same reason." They further stated, "Seoul Metro and the review committee proposed alternative designs, such as one where Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon each appear for 10 seconds, but we were informed that advertising itself is currently impossible due to ongoing complaints."

Additionally, they said, "We received an official letter from Seoul Metro warning that 'due to continuous complaints, future advertisements through Giftree may be difficult,'" and appealed, "If such complaints continue, it may become difficult not only for Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon to advertise through our company but also for all subway advertisements in general. We earnestly ask fans to kindly refrain from filing complaints with a more generous heart." Finally, they apologized, saying, "We are very sorry for not delivering satisfactory results despite your sincere voting," and promised, "We will promptly devise compensation measures equivalent to the suspension period and prepare countermeasures as soon as possible."
Previously, Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon received much love for their roles as a couple in the tvN drama 'Seonjae Eopgo Twieo' aired last year. The two recently ranked first in Giftree's vote for 'Drama Couple Fans Want to See Again,' and it was reported that their advertisement was scheduled to be displayed at Konkuk University Station from the 13th to the 27th of this month as a special benefit.
