On January 23, online video service Netflix announced that it will release its new series "When Life Gives You Tangerines" on March 7.
"When Life Gives You Tangerines" tells the story of Aesoon, who was born in Jeju, and Gwansik, an unabashedly devoted man, as their lives unfold across the four seasons. The series stars IU (real name Lee Jieun) and Park Bogum in the lead roles, with Moon Sori and Park Haejoon among the supporting cast. The drama is written by Lim Sangchun, known for "When the Camellia Blooms" (2019) and "Fight for My Way" (2017), and directed by Kim Wonseok, who previously worked on "Misaeng: Incomplete Life" (2014), "Signal" (2016), and "My Mister" (2018).
The poster released by Netflix on the same day features Aesoon and Gwansik holding hands in a field of yellow canola flowers. The trailer showcases Jeju's canola fields, markets, persimmon trees, and the sea. Against these backdrops, the two characters are seen putting shoes on each other and placing flowers in each other's hair, but also shouting and arguing in frustration.
