Actor Shim Hyungtak (47) and his wife Hirai Saya (29), who overcame an 18-year age difference, gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 3.56 kg at Gangnam CHA Women's Hospital on January 13 and have since been discharged, the hospital announced on January 23.

The couple shared their feelings, saying, "We are indescribably happy and full of love," and added, "We are grateful to Professor Moonyoung Kim, our attending physician, and to everyone who supported us." Professor Moonyoung Kim, who was in charge of the delivery at Gangnam CHA Women's Hospital, commented, "The baby is truly beautiful, and it is wonderful to see such a harmonious family. As their physician, I sincerely congratulate them and hope their family is always filled with joy and happiness."

Shim Hyungtak also posted photos of his son's hands and feet on his Instagram, writing, "Hello, Haru. Thank you for coming to be by your mom and dad's side. From now on, mom and dad will protect you. We love you." His wife, Hirai Saya, also expressed her feelings on Instagram, saying, "We finally met. You are so lovable, words cannot express it. His name is Haru. Thank you so much for being born, Haru."

Shim Hyungtak and his Japanese wife Hirai Saya got married in August last year after dating for four years. Born in 1978, Shim Hyungtak and Hirai Saya have an 18-year age difference, but they drew much attention by sharing their love story that transcended both nationality and age.
