Unveiling the First-Ever BYD Atto 3 Commercial in Korea
Highlighting Innovative Technology and Brand Launch Events
Cheil Worldwide announced on January 23 that it is leading the domestic launch marketing for BYD Korea's passenger vehicle brand, part of the world's largest electric vehicle company.
To begin, Cheil Worldwide unveiled an advertisement for the compact electric SUV, BYD Atto 3, on January 16, marking the model's debut in Korea. The commercial, produced by Cheil Worldwide, highlights BYD's technological evolution in overcoming limits. By creatively using the initial consonants of the BYD brand name (ㅂㅇㄷ), the campaign aims to firmly establish BYD electric vehicles in the minds of Korean consumers and intuitively communicate the product’s advanced technology.
The advertisement uses the keyword "Baeunda" (learning) to showcase the BYD Blade Battery technology, which has proven its safety through a nail penetration test. It also presents "Biunda" (emptying) to highlight the e-Platform 3.0, which maximizes space efficiency by reducing unnecessary components. The daring scene of a nail penetrating the battery stands out as a particularly bold creative choice.
In addition to the advertisement, BYD and Cheil Worldwide held a brand launch event on January 16 at the SangSang Platform in Jung-gu, Incheon, officially marking BYD’s entry into the Korean passenger car market. The event introduced BYD’s corporate history, eco-friendly philosophy, and business achievements. It also featured exhibits such as the e-Platform 3.0 equipped with BYD’s signature CTB (Cell to Body) technology and a Blade Battery nail penetration test simulator.
For the first time in Korea, BYD unveiled three electric vehicle models: BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal, and BYD Sealion 7. The event included a stage driving performance using lighting and graphics, captivating the attention of attendees. A Cheil Worldwide representative commented, "It was a meaningful project for Cheil Worldwide to be the first to introduce a brand still unfamiliar to the Korean market."
Meanwhile, BYD Korea is operating a brand exhibition and experience center for the general public at the Incheon SangSang Platform until February 2. The event features displays of BYD vehicles, themed experience zones utilizing the V2L function of electric vehicles, and prize giveaways such as a 3.75-gram gold bar.
