SK Innovation Delivers 4.06 Billion Won to Partners Through 1% Employee Salary Fund

Distributed to 73 On-Site Partner Companies Ahead of Lunar New Year

SK Innovation delivered a win-win fund of 4.06 billion won to its partner companies ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.


On January 22, SK Innovation announced that it held the '2025 SK Innovation Partner Win-Win Fund Delivery Ceremony' at the SK Innovation Ulsan Complex (Ulsan CLX) in Nam-gu, Ulsan. SK Innovation allocated 3.37 billion won from the '1% Happiness Sharing Fund', which was created through a 1% basic salary donation by employees and a matching grant from the company, and delivered it to 73 on-site partner companies. The matching grant method refers to a donation scheme in which the company contributes an amount equal to the employees' donations. This fund will be distributed as Onnuri gift certificates worth 740,000 won per person to approximately 5,400 partner company employees before the Lunar New Year holiday.

In addition, 690 million won was provided to the joint labor welfare fund established by the government and partner companies. This fund will be used for welfare programs such as accident insurance for approximately 1,100 employees of 21 participating partner companies. Kim Jonghwa, President of SK Energy, stated, "SK Innovation will take the lead in creating a healthy industrial ecosystem where large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises grow together."


The event was attended by Kim Jonghwa, President of SK Energy; Kim Beomseok, Director of the Ulsan Employment and Labor Office at the Ministry of Employment and Labor; Park Yulhee, Chairman of the SK Innovation Labor Union; Lee Chungil, Head of SK Energy Ulsan CLX; Park Jongdeok, CEO of Dongbu Co., Ltd.; and employees of partner companies.


Since 2018, SK Innovation's labor and management have been creating the '1% Happiness Sharing Fund.' Through this initiative, a total of 26 billion won has been used to improve the welfare of a cumulative 48,000 partner company employees. Chairman Park stated, "I am pleased that the 1% win-win fund, which was proposed and voluntarily created by employees, has been operated for eight years as of this year," adding, "We will continue to work for mutual growth with our partner companies and for the improvement of employee welfare."
