Seosan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 22nd that it will operate an emergency medical care system for nine days from the 25th to February 2nd to prevent any gaps in medical services during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
The city has designated "open hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies" to prepare for emergency patients during the holiday, and plans to provide emergency medical services at local health centers.
The Seosan Medical Center of Chungcheongnam-do and Seosan Jungang Hospital, which serve as regional emergency medical centers, will operate emergency rooms 24 hours a day. In addition, 120 hospitals and clinics and 124 pharmacies will be designated and operated by date.
Information on available medical institutions and pharmacies during the Lunar New Year holiday can be found on the Seosan City and Seosan City Health Center websites, at the 119 Emergency Situation Management Center, and the 129 Health and Welfare Call Center.
Fast and accurate information is also available through the Emergency Medical Information Provision website or the Emergency Medical Information Provision smartphone app.
In addition, the city plans to contribute to seamless medical services during the holiday by providing guidance on open hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, and by supervising and inspecting on-duty medical institutions.
Kim Yongran, head of the Seosan City Health Center, said, "We will do our best to maintain the emergency medical care system and prevent any gaps in medical services during the Lunar New Year holiday to ensure that citizens experience no inconvenience."
