On this day, officials including the Director of the Ulsan City Citizen Health Bureau met with facility staff and residents to express gratitude and encouragement, listen to difficulties in facility operations, and share a time of giving.
They delivered 88 pairs of activity pants as consolation gifts to the residents.
An official from Ulsan City said, “Every year during the holidays, we visit facility residents to offer consolation and encouragement so they can have a warm holiday,” adding, “We thank the facility staff who protect the welfare field and will continue to do our best to provide thorough care for residents so that no one is left isolated.”
Seongae-won, a mental health care facility located in Nammyeong-ri, Dudong-myeon, Ulju-gun, has been operating since 1986 to provide care, protection, rehabilitation, and social reintegration for people with mental illnesses. Currently, 31 staff members manage 88 residents.
Ulsan City’s consolation visits to Seongae-won are held twice a year during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays to raise awareness of marginalized groups and foster a culture of neighborly love.
