Daejeon City announced that, to alleviate traffic inconvenience caused by the traffic control at Yudeunggyo Bridge and to provide convenience for visitors returning home for the Lunar New Year holiday, a temporary bridge toward Domadong (downstream) will be partially opened starting from the day before the holiday, January 24.

The temporary bridges are being installed in two locations centered around Yudeunggyo Bridge: one toward Yucheondong (upstream) and one toward Domadong (downstream).

The section to be partially opened is the road from Beodne Intersection to Doma Intersection, and until the full opening, two out of three lanes will be operated as one-way traffic.

Accordingly, due to the traffic restrictions following the subsidence of Yudeunggyo Bridge last July, left turns (toward Seonam Bus Terminal) and U-turns in front of Yudeunggyo Bridge from Beodne Intersection will not be allowed, and left turns in front of Yudeunggyo Bridge from Doma Intersection and going straight from Domagyo Bridge toward Beodne Middle School will be prohibited.

The temporary bridge at Yudeunggyo is being constructed with a total project cost of 7.5 billion KRW, with construction starting in November last year and aiming for opening and completion toward Yucheondong by the end of February this year.

Park Munyong, Director of the Construction Management Headquarters of Daejeon City, said, "We expect that this partial opening will help alleviate some of the traffic inconvenience caused by detouring through Domagyo and Taepyeonggyo Bridges," and added, "We will strive to open the entire section by the end of February to normalize traffic flow and resolve inconvenience for citizens."
