Chonnam National University announced on the 22nd that its School of Dentistry (Dean Kim Jaehyung) conducted dental volunteer services at Dalkomi Experience and Healing Village in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, on the 11th and 12th.
This dental volunteer activity, led by the student council, involved a volunteer group of about 40 people, including professors and students from Chonnam National University School of Dentistry, alumni, and residents from Chonnam National University Dental Hospital. The volunteer service included education, checkups, and treatment for the oral health of local residents.
The volunteer team provided personalized care such as tooth extraction, dental caries treatment, scaling, fluoride application, TBI, tooth brushing education, and dental consultations.
Professors and alumni practitioners actively participated to provide high-quality medical services to the local community, and also visited the community center to distribute toothpaste and toothbrushes to residents and engage in conversations, fostering communication with the community.
Dean Kim Jaehyung said, "This volunteer activity was a meaningful time, as professors, students, alumni, and residents all participated with one heart to contribute to the local community," and added, "We will continue to seek out communities in need of medical services and carry out volunteer activities consistently in the future."
