Emergency Operations System with 11 Task Forces and Over 200 Personnel
Damyang County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Byungno) is implementing comprehensive measures to ensure that visitors returning home for the Lunar New Year holiday can enjoy a safe and happy holiday.
According to the county on the 22nd, a total of 11 task forces have been formed, including those for general coordination, traffic, price stabilization, disaster and accident response, health and medical care, resolving resident inconveniences, tourism information, livestock disease control, and public official discipline. Over 200 personnel will be deployed for emergency duty.
Prior to the holiday, the county operated an on-site inspection week to conduct thorough checks on multi-use facilities, fire-prone areas, water and sewage systems, construction sites, and transportation facilities.
The Disaster Comprehensive Situation Room, which serves as the command center, will operate 24-hour emergency shifts during the holiday to respond immediately to any disasters, accidents, or emergencies. The county will also run an emergency medical response center, designated medical institutions, and on-duty pharmacies to ensure there are no gaps in medical services during the holiday period.
Special attention will also be given to traffic and price stabilization. A special transportation situation room will manage vehicle flow during the holiday, while the price stabilization task force will oversee the supply and pricing of essential goods and monitor origin labeling to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
To minimize inconvenience for residents and visitors, a dedicated team will focus on collecting household waste, while the county cemetery task force and water and sewage inconvenience reporting center will operate to address any issues that arise during the holiday.
To create a safe tourism environment, the county has carried out environmental maintenance at major tourist sites ahead of the holiday. From the 28th to the 30th, Juknokwon, Metaland, and Gamagol Ecological Park will be open to the public free of charge.
Additionally, the county will foster a warm holiday atmosphere by delivering gifts to social welfare facilities and low-income households, and will operate a quarantine situation room to prevent livestock diseases such as avian influenza.
Governor Lee Byungno emphasized, “With the 27th designated as a temporary holiday, we will focus our administrative efforts across all departments to ensure that visitors and tourists to Damyang over the six-day holiday period can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday.”
