Wage Subsidy of 2 Million KRW per Month for 3 Months
Applications Accepted Until Budget Runs Out
Daejeon City announced that it will publicly recruit companies and 80 youth interns to participate in this year's Youth Internship Support Project.
Eligible participants are small and medium-sized enterprises or mid-sized companies in Daejeon with at least five regular employees, research institute companies in Daedeok Innopolis, and unemployed youth aged between 18 and 39 residing in Daejeon.
The newly established Type 1 Employment Confirmation Track, introduced this year, is open to youth who have participated in the 2025 Daejeon Settlement-Type Youth Job Comprehensive Project, completed the project's common training and on-site corporate training, and to Cheongkkeul companies in the nano/semiconductor, bio, and ICT fields.
The Daejeon Job Support Center will recommend applicants to companies based on their preferred field and aptitude, and companies will autonomously select participants for the internship from among the recommended youth.
Internship participants will work at the respective company for three months. Daejeon City will provide companies with a monthly wage subsidy of 2 million KRW per youth intern for three months. Companies are required to enroll youth interns in the four major insurances and pay at least the minimum wage, including the city’s support. However, companies must not receive separate subsidies from the government or other sources.
Applications can be submitted through the Daejeon Job Information Network and are accepted on a rolling basis until the budget is exhausted. For more details, contact the Daejeon Job Support Center.
Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Economic Affairs at Daejeon City, stated, "Looking at the results of the Youth Internship Support Project so far, the regular employment conversion rate of participants is about 60%, showing a significant effect on job creation by Daejeon companies and youth employment. We will continue to promote this project so that youth can secure quality jobs and small and medium-sized companies can alleviate workforce shortages."
