At the 17th anniversary event held at the headquarters in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Park said, "We will prioritize investment in safe operations and internalizing safety as part of the company culture, focusing the company's capabilities on this."
Jin Air emphasized that it is ensuring thorough aircraft maintenance by sharing the maintenance capabilities of its parent company, Korean Air, in terms of safety management. It also highlighted that it has strengthened its safe operation capabilities by becoming the first domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) to achieve eight consecutive re-certifications of the International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
Regarding the vision for the integrated LCC, Park emphasized, "Through integration, we will expand the global network in two years and become the leading LCC with a fleet composed of state-of-the-art aircraft and a stable operation system." He added, "More than 4,000 employees will work organically as one team toward a single goal, building Jin Air's unique culture and capabilities to become an airline that is respected beyond recognition." Following the corporate merger of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, Jin Air will launch as an integrated LCC combined with Asiana affiliates Air Busan and Air Seoul.
The event proceeded with viewing a video commemorating the 17th anniversary, awarding certificates to long-term and exemplary employees, delivering the anniversary speech, and taking commemorative photos. About 100 executives and employees attended. Jin Air currently operates 31 aircraft on 60 domestic and international routes. Last year, it surpassed 11 million passengers annually for the first time since its founding.
