24-Hour Emergency Medical System Maintained
197 Public Parking Lots Operated Free of Charge from the 25th to the 30th
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 21st that it will implement a "Comprehensive Plan for the Lunar New Year Holiday" to ensure citizen safety and convenience for the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
Goyang Special City has established a comprehensive plan focusing on six key areas: health, welfare, environment, disaster and safety, transportation and logistics, and stabilization of the local economy. A comprehensive situation room will be operated for six days from the 25th to the 30th.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, Goyang Special City will designate hospitals and pharmacies that will remain open. To operate an emergency medical system in preparation for emergency patients, 140 hospitals and clinics and 384 pharmacies have been designated as operating institutions during the holiday period. This information will be actively promoted through the city, district offices, public health center websites, and emergency medical applications. On the day of Lunar New Year, a clinic will be operated at the Deogyang-gu Public Health Center.
In particular, to respond quickly to emergency patients or mass casualty incidents, emergency medical institutions in the area including Myongji Hospital, Wondang Yonsei Hospital, The Design Hospital, Ilsan Hospital, National Cancer Center, Dongguk University Hospital, Grace Hospital, Heo Yu-jae Hospital, Ilsan Gospel Hospital, Ilsan CHA Hospital, and Ilsan Paik Hospital will maintain a 24-hour emergency medical system.
Information on medical institutions and pharmacies open during the Lunar New Year holiday, as well as ambulance dispatch, can be quickly obtained through the Goyang City website, public health centers, and the Goyang Citizen Call Center (Emergency Situation Management Center, dial 119 without area code).
To respond to emergencies during the holiday period, response teams will be organized by department. A disaster situation room will operate 24 hours a day during the holiday to monitor disaster and safety situations and establish a communication network with related organizations to ensure rapid initial response in case of emergencies.
Emergency repairs for water supply leaks and meter damage will be carried out, and emergency water supply support will be provided. A 24-hour emergency dispatch system will also be operated for urgent civil complaints such as sewage backflow and damage. Additionally, to prevent inconvenience to citizens' movement due to snowfall, snow removal measures will be maintained during the holiday period, with related departments on duty three hours before snowfall forecasts.
To prepare for high-risk livestock infectious diseases (ASF, AI, foot-and-mouth disease), specialized disinfection vehicles will be deployed to disinfect entrances and exits of livestock farms, and disinfection support facilities for livestock vehicles will be operated within the Agricultural Technology Center.
Furthermore, the city will operate a comprehensive traffic situation room to alleviate traffic inconveniences during the holiday. Model driver associations will be concentrated at 14 locations including funeral facilities and traditional markets, which are traffic congestion areas during the holiday, to manage traffic. Real-time traffic information will be provided through 58 road electronic display boards and 1,250 bus information terminals.
In addition, to facilitate parking for returning visitors, 197 public parking lots in the city will be operated free of charge from the 25th to the 30th, and guidance services will be provided through Naver and Kakao. From the 25th to the 31st, temporary parking around traditional markets will be allowed for market visitors to promote local economic revitalization and improve convenience for traditional market users.
