Buan County to Conduct Special Inspection on Livestock Product Hygiene Management Until the 24th

Targeting 118 Establishments Handling Livestock Products

Buan County in North Jeolla Province will conduct a special inspection on the hygiene management of livestock products at 118 establishments handling livestock products in the region until the 24th.


According to the county on the 21st, this inspection has been initiated to strengthen hygiene management of livestock products and establish a safe distribution system in anticipation of increased consumption ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, as well as to prevent potential accidents in advance.

The inspection will focus on hygiene practices such as compliance with sanitary handling and transportation standards for livestock products, as well as on preventing the sale of imported livestock products disguised as domestic, and on checking for omissions or falsifications of tracking numbers required by the livestock product traceability system.


Businesses found in violation will face administrative actions such as fines or business suspension in accordance with relevant laws, and will also be provided with education on the Livestock Products Sanitation Control Act and compliance requirements for business operators.


Kwon Obeom, head of the Livestock Division, stated, "Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, we will operate inspection teams to thoroughly guide and inspect so that there are no hygiene issues with livestock products, and we will do our best to create an environment where residents can safely consume these products."
