Installation of Air Quality Display System
for Real-Time Air Quality Monitoring
Weather big data platform company Kweather announced on the 21st that it is collaborating with the Korea Racing Authority to install air quality monitors in the racehorse stables at LetsRun Park and monitor air quality in real time.
This is the first case of installing air quality monitors in racehorse stables. The LetsRun Park racehorse stables house about 1,000 valuable racehorses at all times. Air quality management is necessary due to dust and methane gas.
To protect the health of horse caretakers working in the stables and the welfare of the racehorses, air quality conditions including temperature and humidity will be monitored in real time. Indoor air quality monitors have been installed so that workers can actively respond on site by wearing masks, operating ventilation fans, and activating fine water mist sprayers.
Kweather’s air quality monitors are IoT-based and have received first-class certification from the Ministry of Environment. They measure fine dust, ultrafine dust, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds, noise, temperature, and humidity in real time. By linking with the air big data platform Air365, the data is analyzed and ventilation devices are controlled to maintain an optimal indoor environment.
An air quality display system (DID) has been installed inside the racehorse stables so that workers can check air quality information in real time. It is also used for safety education and announcements.
Air quality monitors have also been installed at the race viewing stands to check real-time air quality. Temperature and humidity are adjusted to provide a comfortable environment for spectators. This is also expected to improve energy efficiency and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Kim Dong-sik, CEO of Kweather, said, "We monitor and manage air quality in real time not only in the racehorse stables but also in the race viewing stands," adding, "We will strive to improve the air quality of key spaces to first-class level."
