The ‘Youth Monthly Rent Support Project’ is a program that supports part of the monthly rent (up to 100,000 KRW per month) for up to one year to young people whose income is below a certain standard, aiming to help stabilize their housing and promote economic independence.

The number of supported individuals in the first half of the year is 60. Eligible applicants must be registered residents of Paju City as of the application date, be between 19 and 39 years old, without home ownership, and living separately from their parents. Applicants must have an income below 120% of the median income as of the announcement date (monthly income of 2,871,000 KRW for a single-person household), and reside in housing with a lease deposit of 100 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 500,000 KRW or less.

However, basic livelihood security recipients (excluding education benefits), residents of public rental housing under the Public Housing Special Act, recipients of housing-related financial support, and other government or local government housing support recipients are excluded from eligibility.

Those wishing to apply can do so from the 21st to February 20th through the Gyeonggi-do Job Support Project Integrated Application System. After reviewing eligibility, the list of supported applicants will be announced on March 31st, and support payments will be made quarterly starting in April. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Youth and Adolescents Division, Youth Support Team.

Kim Su-tae, head of the Youth and Adolescents Division, said, “We hope this project will provide a stable housing foundation for young people, and Paju City will prepare various policies to help youth enter society and settle down.”
