Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event for Five Days
from the 23rd to the 27th

Gyeongbuk Province will hold an 'Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event' at 10 traditional markets within the province for five days from the 23rd to the 27th in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.


This event was organized to revitalize traditional markets, promote the consumption of domestically produced agricultural and livestock products, provide practical benefits to residents, and simultaneously stimulate the local economy.

"If You Buy 67,000 Won Worth of Domestic Agricultural Products, You Get 20,000 Won Back"... 10 Traditional Markets in Gyeongbuk Andong Jungang Market.

Hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, a refund benefit of 10,000 KRW is provided for purchases of domestic agricultural products over 34,000 KRW, and 20,000 KRW for purchases over 67,000 KRW. Refunds are given in Onnuri gift certificates at refund booths within the markets, with a maximum refund of 20,000 KRW per person.


The participating markets include Pohang Jukdo Market (Agricultural Market) and Keundonghae Market, Gyeongju Seongdong Market and Jungang Market, Andong Old Market and New Market, Yeongju 365 Market, Yeongcheon Public Market, Gyeongsan Public Market, and Uljin Bajige Market, totaling 10 markets across 7 cities and counties.


Residents of Gyeongbuk Province can visit these markets during the event period to purchase agricultural and livestock products and receive refund benefits, which is expected to reduce holiday preparation costs.


Gyeongbuk Province plans to continue implementing various policies to stabilize residents' lives and promote consumption through attracting customers to traditional markets, thereby revitalizing traditional markets.

Choi Young-sook, Director of the Economic and Trade Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, “This event is expected to provide residents with a reasonable opportunity for holiday shopping and contribute to increased sales for traditional market merchants and the revitalization of the local economy.” She added, “Through events like this, we aim to spread a positive perception of traditional markets and further establish the culture of using traditional markets.”
