Pohang's Iconic Tourist Attraction Spacewalk Selected Consecutively for 'Korea's Top 100 Tourist Spots'

Opened in 2021, Surpassed 3 Million Visitors Last Year
Selected for ‘2023 Korea Tourism Stars’ and Now Korea Tourism 100

Pohang Spacewalk has been selected once again for the ‘2025?2026 Korea Tourism 100’, following its inclusion in the ‘2023?2024 Korea Tourism 100’.

Pohang's Iconic Tourist Attraction Spacewalk Selected Consecutively for 'Korea's Top 100 Tourist Spots' Pohang Spacewalk.

Now in its seventh year, the ‘Korea Tourism 100’ is a project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, which selects and promotes Korea’s representative tourist destinations that domestic and international travelers must visit every two years.

Spacewalk has been consecutively selected, and for the entire Pohang area, this marks the fourth selection following ▲Pohang Canal & Jukdo Market (2017?2018) ▲Pohang Canal (2019?2020) ▲Spacewalk (2023?2024).

Spacewalk, which opened on November 19, 2021, is Korea’s first and largest experiential steel track sculpture. Visitors can walk along a 333-meter-long steel structure track and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding scenery, including the sunrise and sunset over Yeongil Bay and the night view of POSCO Steelworks.

Upon its opening, Spacewalk quickly gained popularity on social media, surpassing 1 million visitors within 11 months in October 2022, and exceeding 3 million cumulative visitors by December of last year.

Additionally, in 2023, it was selected in the new tourism resources category of the ‘2023 Korea Tourism Stars’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, further strengthening its position as a representative tourist attraction of Pohang.

Following this selection for the ‘Korea Tourism 100’, the Korea Tourism Organization plans to produce and distribute related promotional materials, and a visit certification event for the Korea Tourism 100 will also be held soon in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.

Park Sang-jin, Head of the Tourism Convention City Promotion Headquarters, said, “With the re-selection in the Korea Tourism 100, Spacewalk has firmly established itself as a must-visit destination for domestic and international tourists,” adding, “We will continue to prepare to showcase attractive tourism content like Spacewalk to leap forward as a global tourism city, Pohang.”
