The ‘Go Green, Go Market’ campaign is an ESG activity in which the corporation’s employees use eco-friendly reusable shopping bags to shop at local traditional markets.

From the 13th to the 24th of this month, the Oil Corporation is carrying out the ‘Go Green, Go Market’ campaign at its Ulsan headquarters and nine reserve branches, holding the event for two weeks at locations including Ulsan Taehwa Market, Geoje Okpo International Market, Yeosu Gyodong Market, Pyeongtaek Anjung Market, and Donghae Bukpyeong Folk Market.

The shopping event held this time at Taehwa Market in Jung-gu involved Korea National Oil Corporation executives and employees, including the labor union, as well as merchants affiliated with Taehwa Market. As part of early budget execution to boost domestic demand, they purchased local specialties at traditional markets, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

Jung Si-nae, Head of ESG Management at Korea National Oil Corporation, who participated in the event, said, “I hope today’s event can be of even a little help to the traditional markets and small business owners who have recently been facing difficulties. The corporation will continue to contribute to the local community by cooperating with local residents and small business owners.”

In addition to this campaign, Korea National Oil Corporation is continuously carrying out social contribution activities in the local community, such as jointly producing agricultural product packages with traditional market merchant associations and purchasing mixed grain sets from social economy enterprises to provide to vulnerable groups during the Lunar New Year.
