Hapcheon-gun Holds Anti-Corruption and Integrity Declaration Ceremony to Reform Public Service Culture

Establishment and Implementation of Measures Targeting All Public Officials

Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has established a public service culture reform plan to improve overall integrity and eradicate misconduct in the public sector in celebration of the year 2025, Eulsan year, and took the first step by holding an anti-corruption and integrity proclamation ceremony.

This reform plan was prepared in response to the audit results and disposition requests from the Board of Audit and Inspection regarding the implementation status of major financial investment projects by local governments.

The proclamation ceremony held on the 20th was attended by key officials at grade 5 and above, including County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol, and proceeded with sharing major misconduct cases and punishments of public officials, reading and declaring the integrity resolution, and writing the integrity pledge.

Governor Kim emphasized, "We will make every effort to restore the trust of the county administration to resolve the concerns and worries held by the residents due to the Hapcheon hotel incident," and added, "If misconduct occurs among affiliated public officials, we will strictly apply a zero-tolerance principle according to the severity of the case."

The upcoming public service culture reform measures include designating and operating integrity officers for each department, bureau, affiliated agency, and town/village, integrity pledges and education for all public officials, high-intensity public service discipline inspections and continuous monitoring of misconduct, expert-invited education on private investment projects, and job training using actual audit cases.

Hapcheon-gun plans to continuously implement these anti-corruption and integrity policies throughout the year to take the lead in creating a clean public service culture.
