President-elect Trump began his day around 8:40 a.m. with his wife, Melania Trump, attending a service at St. John's Episcopal Church near the White House.

After the service, President-elect Trump proceeded to the White House. When he arrived around 9:55 a.m. and stepped out of the car, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, who were waiting at the entrance, greeted the Trump couple.

President Biden said to President-elect Trump, "Welcome home."

Afterwards, the two couples exchanged light hugs and greetings, followed by a commemorative photo. They then entered the White House for a private conversation, guided by President Biden.

This was a scene not seen four years ago. Previously, in January 2021, then-President Trump refused to concede the election results and did not invite President-elect Biden to the White House. He also did not attend the inauguration.

After their conversation, President-elect Trump and President Biden with their spouses moved to the Capitol, where the inauguration ceremony would take place.

President-elect Trump officially begins his term as the 47th President through the oath of office and inauguration ceremony held at noon that day.

Following tradition, the Trump couple stayed the night before at Blair House, the White House guest residence. On the morning of the day, they attended a service at St. John's Episcopal Church, known as the "President's Church." He also began his first inauguration day in 2017 by visiting this church.

At the service that day, in addition to the Trump couple and Vice President-elect Pence and his spouse, members of the Trump family were present. Big tech figures such as Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta; Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon; Tim Cook, CEO of Apple; as well as former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also attended.
