Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do is launching support measures for the local economy to reduce the burden on ordinary citizens and revitalize the regional economy during the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to Hampyeong County on the 20th, the county will temporarily increase the purchase limit of the Hampyeong Sarang Gift Certificate from 700,000 won to 1,000,000 won for this Lunar New Year holiday. Both paper and mobile versions of the gift certificate can be purchased up to 500,000 won each.
The Hampyeong Sarang Gift Certificate can be used like cash at affiliated stores in the region, including traditional markets and small shops.
The paper gift certificates can be purchased at local branches of Nonghyup, Kwangju Bank, Shinhyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, and the Forestry Cooperative. The mobile gift certificates (QR+card) can be purchased and recharged through the 'Local Gift Certificate chak' app and at bank counters.
Additionally, from the 23rd to the 27th, a five-day Onnuri Gift Certificate reimbursement event will be held at Hampyeongcheonji Traditional Market.
During the event, customers who purchase domestic seafood and agricultural or livestock products at retail or wholesale stores in the traditional market will be reimbursed with Onnuri Gift Certificates.
The reimbursement amount is 10,000 won for purchases over 34,000 won, and 20,000 won for purchases over 67,000 won. For seafood and agricultural or livestock products, up to 40,000 won can be reimbursed for each category.
However, the event may end early if the budget is exhausted.
Furthermore, events will be held for small business owners and consumers on the public delivery apps 'Meokgaebi' and 'Ttaenggyeoyo,' offering a 3,000 won discount and 3,000 won delivery fee support for purchases over 15,000 won to encourage consumption.
The county will also hold traditional market shopping events to support merchants struggling due to the economic downturn. These will take place at four traditional markets: Wolya Traditional Market on the 20th, Hampyeongcheonji Traditional Market on the 22nd, Haebo Traditional Market on the 23rd, and Nasan Traditional Market on the 24th.
County Mayor Lee Sangik, public officials, local institutions, and heads of social organizations will participate in the shopping events, purchasing holiday food items and local agricultural specialties to help boost the local economy.
Lee Sangik, Mayor of Hampyeong County, stated, "We hope this Lunar New Year holiday will provide practical help to local small business owners and traditional markets," adding, "We wish all residents a happy and abundant holiday and will continue to implement various policies to support the local economy even after the holiday."
