Father Battled Dementia for a Long Time
Singer and JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin-young has suffered the loss of his father.
On the 19th, Park Jin-young announced his father's passing by posting a photo with his father on his social media (SNS). He said, "My father passed away just before the last live broadcast of 'The Danttara' began," adding, "He passed away while I was recording about 10 minutes away from the hospital. Thanks to that, I was able to visit him while he was still alive before the recording and see him again immediately after he passed."

Park Jin-young shared that his father had been battling dementia for a long time, saying, "During the past year or so, he was mostly unconscious, so our family was mentally prepared," but added, "Still, seeing my late father makes my heart feel like it’s dropping to the bottom."
He continued, "In the early stages of dementia, when he became pure like a child, he heard about Jesus and fully believed in the gospel. As Christians, our family feels somewhat able to stay strong," explaining, "Because we know where he has gone and that we will meet again soon."
Park Jin-young said, "My best friend who called me 'dad' instead of 'father' until the very end," and added, "My dad always believed in me and supported me. The reason I could become the person I am today is thanks to him. He was the best dad to me. Let’s meet again and talk a lot."
Meanwhile, Park Jin-young asked for understanding as the family plans to hold a quiet funeral for the deceased.
