"Safe Dream City Ulsan, Together with the Fire Department"... Ulsan Fire Department Announces Work Plan

Proactive Safety Management and Advanced Response System
Realizing a Leading Safe City

The Ulsan Fire Headquarters will promote various projects throughout 2025 to ensure the safety of citizens and realize a safe city that harmonizes with local industries.

The main directions are ▲ proactive safety management focused on prevention ▲ establishment of a response system suitable for the local disaster environment.

① Strengthening proactive safety management focused on prevention

First, a dedicated fire technology support team for large-scale investment projects will be operated to expand safety management consulting from permit to completion, and fire safety inspections of industrial complexes will be conducted to preemptively block fire safety hazards at major industrial sites.

In addition, a self-safety management environment will be created through public-private collaboration, and CEO meetings and fire drills for foreign workers will be expanded.

Fire prevention management tailored to citizens' daily lives will also be promoted. Support for fire safety in homes and small businesses will be provided through replacement of old fire extinguishers and operation of senior fire brigades, and multifaceted measures will be prepared to strengthen safety management of vulnerable facilities such as traditional markets and elderly care facilities.

Furthermore, various fire safety cultural events centered on citizen participation, where industry and safety culture coexist, such as the 119 Safety Culture Festival, amateur radio communication contests, and drone competitions, will be expanded.

② Establishment of a response system suitable for the disaster environment

There are plans to expand advanced firefighting equipment such as firefighting helicopters equipped with the latest technology, special firefighting vehicles, and electric vehicle firefighting equipment.

Also, an AI-based drone rescue system will be introduced, and a digital-based situation management rapid dispatch system will be established through the deployment of next-generation disaster safety communication networks.

To improve the survival rate of severe trauma patients, the operation of ‘Doctor119-EMS’ will also be promoted.

Finally, a special disaster training center equipped with training facilities and programs reflecting the characteristics of the national industrial complex is scheduled to be completed in February and enter full operation. This training center is expected to help establish Ulsan as a ‘Safe Dream City’ by providing international training courses, certification as a legal safety education institution, and global-level training.

Lee Jae-soon, head of the Fire Headquarters, said, “The Fire Headquarters will work together to realize ‘Safe Dream City Ulsan’ through systematic and proactive safety management from prevention to response and training,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create a safe environment for citizens’ daily lives.”
