Inauguration and Retirement Ceremony Held for Gyeongsan Branch of Gyeongsangbuk-do Women Entrepreneurs Association

Marking the Year of the Blue Snake in 2025, female entrepreneurs in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk, have united with renewed determination to promote regional economic development.
On the 19th, Gyeongsan City announced that the Gyeongsan branch of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Women Entrepreneurs Association held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 10th and 11th presidents on the 14th at the Daegu·Gyeongbuk Training Institute auditorium of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, with over 120 key guests and members in attendance.

At the ceremony, Yoon Young-ja, CEO of Yeongnam S&R Co., Ltd., completed her two-year term as the 10th president, and Jung Ok-soon, CEO of Aju Stone Co., Ltd., was inaugurated as the new 11th president. Outgoing President Yoon expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the harmony and cooperation of the members, I was able to complete my term safely.”
Newly inaugurated President Jung stated, “I will do my best to create an environment where female entrepreneurs can grow further,” and announced a code of conduct for women entrepreneurs to ensure the growth and development of female businesses in the Gyeongsan area, contributing to the regional economy, thus energetically launching 2025.

President Jung concluded by pledging to contribute to the local economy, saying, “In line with Gyeongsan City’s slogan ‘Blooming Flowers of Gyeongsan,’ we will strive to grow further with the delicate sensibility and resilience of women who overcome adversity, becoming a key pillar of the regional economy.”
Meanwhile, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Women Entrepreneurs Association Gyeongsan branch was launched in 2004 and celebrated its 21st anniversary this year. Starting with 11 members at its inception, it now has 47 member companies, playing a significant role in the regional economy.
The Women Entrepreneurs Association Gyeongsan branch has steadily grown by fostering organic relationships among female entrepreneurs in Gyeongsan, promoting the development of local manufacturing industries, and exchanging information on management, finance, technology, and marketing to enhance the rights and interests of women entrepreneurs.
In 2012, the association established the Gyeongsan Police Station Mothers’ Association, providing supplies and mentorship to police officers during their service period to help them fulfill their duties and become responsible members of society after their service.
Additionally, the association has consistently engaged in kimchi-making volunteer work at welfare centers for the disabled, supported children with heart disease through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and annually donated funds to help the underprivileged and scholarships to Gyeongsan City. In recognition of these contributions, it received the Gyeongsan Mayor’s Award at the Supporters and Volunteers Day of the Gyeongsan Disabled Welfare Center held in November 2024.
Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyun-il stated, “Despite the rapidly changing economic situation, the outstanding capabilities of female entrepreneurs will open new opportunities,” and added, “We will spare no effort to provide the best support in establishing a foundation to strengthen corporate competitiveness.”
