The Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters explained in a press release on the 19th, "This decision was made considering that the prosecution did not request an arrest warrant for Kim Seong-hoon, the deputy head of security."

Lee appeared at the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency at around 9:45 a.m. the previous day and denied the charges, stating, "The Security Service was only performing its legitimate duties within the security zone."

The prosecution rejected the arrest warrant for Deputy Head Kim on the same day, citing no concerns about reoffending or evidence tampering related to the execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon.

The Special Investigation Unit stated, "We have established probable cause for the criminal charges against Deputy Kim and consider the risk of evidence tampering to be high," adding, "We plan to actively review whether to reapply for an arrest warrant through supplementary investigations."
